Preserving Vashon and Maury Island History

VMIHA has collections of photographs, archived materials (newspapers, diaries, memories, clippings, letters, and a variety of other materials), and artifacts (representations of material culture). We encourage gifts and donations to the collections of any items that have historical and cultural significance for Vashon-Maury Island.

VMIHA has a unique and extensive collection of Vashon-Maury Island photographs. We are always seeking to expand the photographic collection and encourage you to donate, loan, or allow us to scan any historical photographs you have. Contact Mary Jo Barrentine at donate.photo@vashonheritage.org about your donation.

 

To obtain a print or scan of a photo in our collection: If you wish to obtain a print or scan for your private use in your home, please fill out an "Image Reproduction Request" form and an "Image Usage Agreement" and return them to VMIHA. Refer to the "Photo Reproduction Price List" for the various options availble.

Archives
The VMIHA Archives are located in The Research Room at the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Museum. The Archives are available during Museum Hours, and volunteers are present to help you locate information and materials you may be interested in locating. We encourage you to donate, loan, or allow us to duplicate any archival materials that have historical and cultural significance for Vashon-Maury Island.
